Oracle 12c introduced a completely new way of storing audit trail in so called Unified Audit Trail. With exception of audit trail records, which are produced when the database is in mount state and not opened for writing, all other audit is stored in a single table. In multi-tenant architecture one can select only from one common view and get all relevant information. Besides storing all audit trail in single place there is a whole new way how one can specify auditing by creating audit policies. In this session we will discuss the required setup (relinking), different levels of audit trail, creating policies, manual and automatic purging of unified audit trail and related problems.

Joze Senegacnik, author
Joze Senegacnik has more than twentyseven years experience in working with Oracle products. In 1988, he started working with Oracle version 4. Since 1992, he has been self-employed as a private researcher in the field of computer science. Most of his work time is dedicated to solving performance bottlenecks in different application solutions that based on the Oracle database. He is also an international speaker giving talks on the most important Oracle database related events worldwide. He conducts well-known performance tuning courses together with Oracle University. Joze is traditional speaker at HrOUG, always with actual topics.
